The Dolly Robertson Trust

Dolly Robertosn LogoDolly Robertson created her garden over 60yrs ago and it has been organic ever since. She made used raised vegetable beds which she gardened from her wheelchair until her death in 2004. Her daughter Mary, now manages the garden, 24ft X 70ft, which is designed for disabled visitors, who want to take an active part in gardening. It is a loved garden.

Mary wanted to ensure Dollys hard work and determination was not forgotten, and equally share the delights that Dolly had found in her garden. So, Mary decided to set up a Trust in memory of her Mother and earlier this year, 2005, approached BATH (Bromley Association of People with Disabilities) to ask whether BATH would be able to administer the Trust for Dollys Garden. Without question, BATH was more than happy to accept the challenge and took immediate steps to guarantee Mary that Dolly Trust was in safe hands.

Dolly in her gardenAlready the Trust is proven to be a success under BATH's administration. Each year, Mary, and the Langley Park Beckenham Rotary Club, between them organise a Fete at Coolings Nursery. The event is to promote awareness for disabled gardeners with a prize being donated to the successful entrant of the days competition.
